7 Instagrammable Spots for Perfect Photos in Westchester

Head over to these Westchester hotspots for picturesque views of the Hudson River and other remarkable locations.

When you’re walking through Westchester’s historic landmarks, it’s impossible to not snap a picture…or 20. Whether the Hudson River is your backdrop or you decide to pose on the Croton Dam, these Westchester locations make for top-notch Instagrammable pictures. For some background, Instagrammable is defined as “visually appealing in a way that is suitable for being photographed for posting on the social media application Instagram.” Without further ado, we present some of Westchester’s most Instagrammable spots.

Croton Gorge Park, Croton-on-Hudson

Starting off strong, the Croton Dam is beloved by both its village residents and visitors. If you need a strong landscape shot, you could never go wrong with a stroll across the top. The Dam took 14 years to build, stands 301 feet tall, and is hailed as the world’s second largest hand-hewn masonry project.

The star of the show when it comes to Westchester ‘grams, the Tappan Zee Bridge is a no-brainer on this list. Plus, there are plenty of parks and trails that highlight its beauty. But there’s one spot in particular that’s very special: the bridge path. The 3.6-mile path features six scenic overlooks and is one of the longest shared-use paths in the country. You can catch bird-eye views of both the Hudson River and Westchester County as you search for the perfect photo opportunity.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow

Although you won’t catch the Headless Horseman riding this time of year, you can stroll the grounds from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends. There are plenty of fascinating monuments and statues onsite that are ideal for capturing via pictures and videos. Be sure to respect the ground and always follow the visiting rules and guidelines found at sleepyhollowcemetery.org.

Playland Park, Rye

We know there’s a lot more to do at Playland than scouting out the best Instagram locations. But when it comes time in May to ride the Dragon Coaster and hit the carnival games, there are a handful of photo opportunities to be had (especially when the fireworks are going!).

Of course, there are plenty more picture-perfect destinations scattered across the 914. Be sure to tag us @westchestermagazine in your Instagrammable pics so we can see the prettiest corners of the county!
