Brick-lined walls and wrought iron accents add turn-of-the century charm to the upstate ceremony locations near Westchester.

There’s something undeniably alluring about Hudson Valley industrial wedding venues. Maybe it’s the brick-covered walls, which hint at age, history, and romantic timelessness. It could also be the touches of wrought iron, which embed themselves everywhere from crisp beams that run along the ceiling to window frames that offer glimpses of the natural panoramas beyond.

In the Hudson Valley, the popularity of industrial wedding venues is hardly a surprise. Given the history and abundance of time-worn edifices in the region, the spaces are a natural fit for couples who want to honor the past and celebrate a new future.

Basilica Hudson

110 S Front St, Hudson

One of the most eye-catching silhouettes in Hudson, Basilica Hudson is a hotspot for craft fairs, festivals, and photo shoots throughout the year. Unsurprisingly, it’s also a dream for weddings, with 7,000 square feet of indoor space and an additional 10,000 square feet outdoors. The building itself is segmented into a number of customizable zones, including the Main Hall, North Hall, and West Wing, and can host whichever caterer a couple prefers.

As for the industrial vibe, it’s the defining design of the property, which oozes charm with stacks upon stacks of distressed bricks, metal beams, and iron-accented windows. As if that isn’t enough, Basilica Hudson provides wedding parties the chance to make use of its furniture collection, which features pieces like 10-foot farm tables and chairs, portable bars, and – of course – string lights.

Factoria at Charles Point

5 John Walsh Blvd, Peekskill

A multi-faceted complex along the river in Peekskill, Factoria has it all. While River Outpost Brewing Co., Fin & Brew, and Spins Hudson are great everyday attractions, The Space at Factoria is the shining star for weddings at the venue.

Not only does it have 34,000 square feet of adaptable event space, but it also houses a dance floor and one of the largest balcony decks in Westchester. The Space works well for mid-sized weddings of 250 people and packs in all the signature industrial elements like metal ceiling beams, brick walls, and panoramic windows.

Helsinki Hudson

405 Columbia St, Hudson

COVID-19 Note: Helsinki Hudson is temporarily closed; check online for the latest updates.

Located in the perennially popular town of Hudson, Helsinki Hudson is a combined club, event hall, and restaurant with a prime location along the Hudson River. The building complex, which dates back to the 1840s, honors its roots with touches like cast iron posts, massive windows, and hand-hewn wooden wall panels — few industrial wedding venues could offer better. Depending on how large a wedding party is, couples can opt to use all, some, or one of the spaces within the building.

For smaller and mid-range groups, the restaurant seats 85, while Club Helsinki accommodates around 230. Above the restaurant, the ballroom is Helsinki Hudson’s crowning jewel. Its rustic ceiling beans and wooden floor are akin to a blank canvas, one that awaits garlands and twinkle lights to enhance its natural elegance. For couples who crave an outdoor component, the venue has a courtyard that leads out of the restaurant and works well for intimate performances and ceremonies as well.

The Hudson Loft

2 S Astor St, Irvington

For couples who crave an industrial space that’s close enough to NYC without, you know, actually being in it, The Hudson Loft is the way to go. A converted warehouse in idyllic Irvington, the loft hides 9,000 square feet of open space, hardwood floors, and steel beams. The interior is incredibly adaptable and can be converted for seated weddings, cocktail hours, and dancing. Round and rectangular tables are available in-house, along with kitchen and AV equipment.

Seated parties fit 220 to 250 people, depending on whether or not couples want a dance floor, while cocktail parties accommodate 450 guests.

Hutton Brickyards

200 North St, Kingston

One of the most remarkable industrial wedding venues in the Hudson Valley, Hutton Brickyards has a history that dates back to 1865. After a first life as The Hutton Brick Works Company, the riverside space is now a hybridized indoor/outdoor venue with incredible views of the Hudson River.

Depending on the season, wedding parties can savor sweet “I dos” under the open-air event hall or retreat indoors to the venue’s brick-walled edifice. A study in industrial simplicity, the building’s minimalist décor and open, airy windows welcome additions like string lights and classical quartets on the small interior balcony.

Ole Savannah Southern Table & Bar

100 Rondout Landing, Kingston

When it comes to industrial wedding venues, Ole Savannah might not be the first place that comes to mind for a Hudson Valley wedding, but that’s precisely why it’s worth considering. As one of Kingston’s main waterfront eateries (hello, East Coast oysters and zippy shrimp and grits!), the venue also hosts intimate weddings for parties of 20 to 140 people throughout the year.

The wedding package takes care of everything, with the possibility of five passed hors d’oeuvres, a pasta and carving station, and a buffet or plated option, along with a four-hour open bar and a cake-cutting service. For outdoor ceremonies and receptions, Old Savannah has a Sperry Sailcloth tent, too.

The Roundhouse

2 E Main St, Beacon

The Roundhouse is one of the most popular wedding venues in the Hudson Valley, and for good reason. Not only is it nestled in the heart of bustling Beacon, but it also has its very own waterfall. Stunning from every angle, the swoon-worthy setting delights with industrial touches like original wood beams, exposed brick walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the rushing creek beyond.

With tall ceilings that mimic the panorama across the glass, The Roundhouse bridges the connection between nature and industry seamlessly. As for the space itself, it can fit up to 200 guests, with options for indoor or outdoor ceremonies. On the food front, The Roundhouse’s in-house restaurant tempts guests with innovative, seasonal fare made with exacting culinary standards. Did we mention there’s a hotel onsite, too?

Senate Garage

4 N Front St, Kingston

COVID-19 Note: Masks are required for all vendors and caterers. Guest policy is on a client-by-client basis, however requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test is recommended.

Dating back to 1921, the converted garage is one of the Hudson Valley’s premier industrial venues. Senate Garage is located on the grounds of The Senate House State Historic Site in Uptown Kingston, making it a dream for anyone who wants to take advantage of the city’s thriving dining scene with a rehearsal dinner in town. The 7,500-square-foot space is a match made in heaven for mid-range wedding parties, with room for 250 seated and 400 standing. It comes equipped with a full catering kitchen, along with a projector and sound system for any presentations before or after the ceremony.

Distressed brick walls, Edison bulb chandeliers, and dark metal beams are signature design elements throughout and look incredible under the glow of twinkle lights latticed across the ceiling. In addition to the main space, a vintage-style lounge area is available as a private dressing area or for guest use, along with historic landscaped gardens. Senate Garage works exclusively with Bridge Creek Catering, which boasts more than 19 years of experience.
