In an unusual move for a gym, the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco has hired a chef-in-residence for their popular café and bar with the opening of Saw Mill Club Café by Myong Gourmet.
“Most health clubs are stuck in the “airport food’ category” Kevin Kane, VP and General Manager for the Saw Mill Club, said. Now, Chef Myong Feiner is breaking the health club mold making healthy food with her own innovative culinary twist. She garnered many fans with her full-service restaurant Myong Gourmet (2011-2016) and prior to that, the Myong Private Label Gourmet.
The 45-seat Saw Mill Club Café has many of Myong’s signature dishes like her kale quinoa burger with bean fries, spicy coconut curry soup, or the curry chicken salad (that she has to replenish several times a day), and new additions like onion jam avocado toast. Food is fuel but good food does not have to be boring — and Myong is not one to settle for the mundane. Feiner wants to to be “creative and inventive,” providing healthy food with flavor, not “preachy food.” While she is the exclusive chef-in-residence, non-members of the Saw Mill Club are not left out from this foodie goodness. Take out orders are available for everyone.
From greeting guests who walk up to the counter like old friends or knowing what the trainers need in a jiffy, Feiner has seemingly found her place at the Saw Mill Club in Mount Kisco. Myong Gourmet will extend to Saw Mill East in the coming months.
