White Plains Lawyer Chosen as One of Top 50 Women Attorneys in New York

Jessica Galligan Goldsmith, Esq., Partner and Chair of the Trusts and Estate practice at White Plains firm Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, LLP, has been selected as one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in the New York metropolitan area in 2014 by the Super Lawyers organization. Goldsmith was also honored last fall as one of the 2013 New York Metro Super Lawyers, and was selected as one of the Top 25 Attorneys in Westchester in 2010 and 2011. Goldsmith is renowned in the trusts and estates legal field for her judgment and skill in using sophisticated techniques to help clients achieve their estate and tax planning goals. She advises clients in the areas of estate and gift planning, charitable planning, estate administration, and planning for closely held businesses.

Heineken CEO Named a 2014 Henry Crown Fellow

Dolf van den Brink, President and CEO of White Plains-based Heineken USA, has been named a 2014 Henry Crown Fellow by the Aspen Institute. The Henry Crown Fellowship mobilizes a new breed of leaders, all under the age of 45, to tackle the world’s most intractable problems. All are proven entrepreneurs, mostly from the world of business, who have reached a point in their lives where, having achieved success, they are ready to apply their creative talents to building a better society. As one of the Henry Crown Fellows, van den Brink will spend four weeks in structured retreat—exploring leadership, core values, his vision for a “Good Society” and his desired legacy. In addition, each Fellow launches a new initiative that will have a positive impact on their communities, their country or the world.

Restaurateur Named Mount Kisco Chamber 2014 Citizen of the Year

Joe DiMauro, owner of Mount Kisco Seafood, has been named the 2014 Citizen of the Year by the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce (MKCC). He will be recognized on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Chamber’s 47th Annual Dinner at the Holiday Inn of Mount Kisco.

DiMauro was born and raised in the Mount Kisco area and is a graduate of Fox Lane High School. After receiving a Business degree from Plattsburgh State University, he worked in advertising sales before purchasing Mount Kisco Seafood in 1980 from a friend. In 2004, Mount Kisco Seafood moved to its current larger location at 477 Lexington Avenue. DiMauro and his wife Joni, also owned and ran the very successful Fish Cellar Restaurant on Main Street in Mount Kisco from 1997-2011.

His recognition from the Chamber stems from his support for organizations that help battered women, children who suffer terminal illness, the hungry, and breast cancer patients. As a participant in seven Avon Walks for Breast Cancer, he and his team have raise more than $100,000 in support breast cancer research, treatment, and prevention education. For years, he has also donated and served his seafood at fundraising events supporting a wide range of local organizations including Riverkeeper, Making Headway, Food Bank For Westchester, Mount Kisco Child Care Center, and the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester.

OLA Consulting Honored by AIA as Allied Professional

Hawthorne-based OLA Consulting Engineers, an industry leader in all aspects of building systems analysis, design, and commissioning, was recently recognized by AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley (AIAWHV) as the inaugural Allied Professional honoree, for their long-standing commitment to the chapter and excellence in MEP engineering.

OLA was chosen from 23 potential active allied professional firms in the AIAWHV chapter. “OLA is a signature firm in our region, recognized as professional leaders and considered a significant resource in our community,” said AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley President John Fry of Sullivan Architecture.
