Adam Sienkiewicz of Total Form Fitness in White Plains has something that many golf trainers covet: TPI certification.
TPI, which stands for Titleist Performance Institute, “is the world’s leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing,” says Sienkiewicz. “By studying thousands of golfers ranging from top professionals to weekend enthusiasts, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible.”
According to Sienkiewicz, as a TPI-certified fitness instructor you learn that there is no single way to swing a golf club. “Rather, there are an infinite number of swinging styles,” he says, “often with one efficient way for each player to swing, based upon what that player can physically do.”
Sienkiewicz says that his TPI certification enables him to properly screen clients in order to assess their weaknesses for targeting and improvement. “This screening involves an assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, current physical-fitness level, movement quality, current health, and medical history.”
Following the screening process, “we put together a unique workout routine for each client’s specific needs,” explains Sienkiewicz. And results show that the certification seems to work. Players advised by a TPI certified expert have won 14 of the last 17 championships and 51 of the last 60 PGA tour events. Plus, 25 of the top 35 players on earth have received some form of advice from an expert with TPI certification. For more info, visit www.totalformfitnesswhiteplains.com.
