House of the Week: Harrison Haven, Hurricane Relief Efforts, Three Lunch & Learn Sessions, House and Home Holiday Shopportunities

House of the week: Harrison Haven; Hurricane Sandy relief efforts; three Lunch & Learn sessions; house and home holiday shopportunities

House of the Week: Harrison Haven
$2.475 million
Annual property taxes: $42,142
26 Lawrence Ln, Harrison

High ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, new windows, and a newly added front porch are just some of the many features that were enhanced by the owners of this updated 6,500 square-foot Colonial in Harrison’s tony Sterling Ridge section. From the perspective of listing agent Susy Glasgall, “The kitchen and room flow are phenomenal. The gourmet kitchen has glass tile, an island topped with the thickest possible marble, and top-of-the-line appliances. There’s such a natural flow—it’s a true center hall Colonial with the living room on one side, the dining room on the other with a family room that opens to the kitchen. Other highlights include a new family room with beautiful built-ins and the most amazing mud room with slate floors and huge cubbies for sports equipment like hockey sticks, baseball bats.” The open and airy interior is filled with all the essential amenities for luxury living, including a Waterworks master spa bath and a strategically placed bath near the door to the in-ground pool. The one-plus acre grounds are equally appealing with artful gardens. The home’s one area that remains unfinished could be a second-level media room, office, or playroom. Already framed out with heating and electricity installed, all it needs is sheetrock and a purpose. Habitat for Humanity of Westchester Continues Hurricane Relief Efforts
The post-Sandy efforts of Habitat for Humanity of Westchester to rebuild continue, not only in many Westchester communities, but other hard-hit areas like the Breezy Point section of Queens. In addition to monetary contributions, donations of chain saws, building supplies and materials, cleaning supplies such as disinfectants, glass cleaners, soaps, hand sanitizers, paper towels, as well as toiletries, shampoos, first-aid items, diapers, baby wipes, and other household items are still needed. Most importantly, volunteers are always needed and welcome. For more information, contact the organization’s executive director, Jim Killoran, at jim@habitatwc.org, visit www.habitatwc.org, or call (914) 403-4821.
