Have you seen Golf Live, the new TV show debuted this year by Golf Magazine? You should check it out, not just for the interesting interviews and demonstrations, but to see one of the latest creations by Armonk’s Home Green Advantage. The company built a 7 X 12-ft. putting green for the program’s studio set at 225 Liberty Street in Manhattan.
“I was thrilled to be able to create a custom green what could fit their needs,” company owner Michael Lehrer says. “I am looking forward to watching the pros test it out on camera.”
The green was actually designed and built in Westchester, then broken down and moved to the studio for the final assembly where the turf itself was added. Lehrer says this process allowed for a more contoured green to look better on camera. The design includes a collar around the green and a special border around the sides. It was also made portable so it can be moved around the studio as needed.
HGA is no stranger to interesting green installations. In addition to hundreds built for homes in Westchester (full disclosure—including one at mine), the company has placed them atop the Trump Tower in City Center, numerous buildings in Manhattan, and even on a floating platform at GlenArbor GC in Bedford.
