After a long wait, it’s finally official: Hillary Clinton is running for US president in 2016.
According to numerous reports, Clinton formally announced her candidacy on Sunday in an email to her supporters.
“I wanted to make sure you heard it first from me – it’s official: Hillary’s running for president,” said Clinton’s advisor John Podesta in the email, according to CNBC.

There’s plenty of hype and plenty of doubt surrounding Clinton’s candidacy, but famous political analyst and Five Thirty Eight Editor-in-Chief Nate Silver puts Clinton’s chances at around 50% to become the country’s first ever female president.
Plenty of details will of course continue to roll out throughout Sunday and in the upcoming weeks. Now, if only she had decided to headquarter her operation in Westchester…sigh.
