A new retirement center focused on aiding residents in memory care is thriving in Purchase. Broadview at Purchase College opened the High Point Center for Care on the SUNY college campus. The new center is an addition to Broadview and is currently welcoming residents who are looking for a safe and comfortable environment where they can socialize.
High Point Center helps those dealing with dementia-related conditions with compassionate care 24 hours a day. The center boasts 32 private suites in a cheerful, comfortable memory care neighborhood designed to reduce confusion and boost confidence. In addition, the staff are specially trained to support the needs of those living with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairments.
“Dignity without compromise is not just a motto. It is a way of life here at Broadview,’’ says executive director Ashley Wade. “The High Point Center for Care supports varying levels of care, allowing our residents to age in place while still enjoying the same comforts, amenities, and activities as the Broadview community – including Assisted Living, Enhanced Assisted Living, and Memory Care.”

With its proximity to SUNY Purchase, the center has students from the college or other local schools run enriching and educational activities. Programs for residents include discussion groups, musical performances, and other engaging activities.
“We provide a brighter, happy, and positive environment that enhances quality of life. Although [the residents] are cognitively impaired, there is still so much life and joy and so much that we can still learn from them,’ says Brittaney Jones-Alleyne, the center’s healthcare service director.
The center is situated on 40 acres and features multiple walking and exercise trails, a swimming pool, fitness center, movie theater, spa and salon, onsite health center, and more. In terms of dining, there is a flexible program with chef-prepared meals, weekly housekeeping, and a concierge service. One benefit of being part of the Purchase College community is the ability to enjoy amenities of the college, including the renowned Neuberger Museum of Art, the Performing Arts Center, the academic and athletic facilities, and more.
The Broadview at Purchase College opened last December and is currently at 97% capacity. The center is comprised of 220 living apartments and villas for seniors ages 62 and older. Learn more on the center’s website.
