Why We Love It:
While it’s not right for someone on a tight budget (though it’s not out of the question, see “The Inside Scoop” below), Blue Hill at Stone Barns is the ultimate spot for a food-lovers wedding (It was included among “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants” in 2015 and 2016). It also doesn’t hurt that the historic property is gorgeous, striking just the right balance of natural beauty, rustic charm, and elegant refinement.

What it Costs: $73,000
Cost is calculated assuming a peak season Saturday night with a 100-person guest list. It includes the HayLoft and ceremony fees ($17,000), catering (passed hors d’oeuvres, three plated courses, wedding cake or dessert, champagne, wine pairings, and open bar); tables, chairs, linens, and table settings; valet parking; lighting and A/V systems; and use of the bridal suite. Also included: 22 percent administrative fee and 7.375 percent Westchester sales tax.
The Space:
The HayLoft, with its dramatic stone walls, is the most popular wedding space. Parties of more than 175 must also buy out the restaurant dining room at a hefty additional fee. Most ceremonies are held in the picturesque outdoor courtyard, weather permitting.

The Inside Scoop:
Couples on a tighter budget might consider a weekday wedding. On Mondays and Tuesdays, Blue Hill holds weddings in the dining room (the restaurant is closed to the public), and waves the venue fee. Combined with a slightly lower weekday catering cost (about $70 less per person), and a wedding here can come in under the $50,000 mark.
Getting Here:
It’s an easy taxi ride from the Tarrytown Metro-North station to Pocantico Hills. Tarrytown has a wealth of hotel options from the historic Castle Hotel & Spa to the modern-yet-affordable DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Tarrytown.

When to Book:
It’s advisable to book more than a year in advance, even for off-peak months, as Blue Hill at Stone Barns is an extremely popular venue.
