At the start of each year, many of us vow to be more mindful but struggle to stick with it. Larchmont resident Jane Pollack hopes to help the community maintain a meditation regimen through her studio, Styll Meditation. She opened the studio in Larchmont last year but, due to COVID-19, has shifted the practice to virtual status. Pollack was a fashion exec for 25 years before opening the mindfulness meditation studio, explaining that meditation changed her life. She wanted to help others have the same positive experience she had.
The studio offers one-on-one instructor interactions and a sense of in-person community (albeit through a screen). Instructors seek to help clients apply what they learn in class to everyday situations. Styll offers guided meditation, with classes for beginners, including Emotions, Compassion, Intentions, and Restorative meditation, and workshops for advanced practitioners. Single live, group classes, which are 30-45 minutes, are $11; unlimited prerecorded classes are available for $14.99 per month. Private classes and class packages are also available.
