Adult Care Facilities in Westchester: By the Numbers
An adult care facility provides long-term, nonmedical residential services to adults who are substantially unable to live independently due to physical, mental, or other limitations associated with age or other factors. These facilities require 24-hour trained staff to supervise, care, and manage residents of the facility. A 24-hour medical staff is not required, but some facilities have on-site nurses in addition to their trained staff.
We have also included Continuous Care Retirement Communities, otherwise known as CCRCs. A CCRC offers at least three of the following four services within one facility: independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing (24-hour medical care at a higher level than assisted living), and memory care for those with dementia. These have been included because they offer assisted living services among their other services, all of which have been noted in their respective entries.
The information listed has been gathered from the facilities’ websites, the facilities themselves, or the New York State Department of Health. All rates are from July 2022 and are subject to change.
