Danae Sintilas has worn many hats in her years in the food business. First and foremost, a chef’s toque. She worked in her parents’ (now defunct) Mount Kisco-based Sunrise Food Store, ran the café at The Saw Mill Club, and has a catering business. But what brings both her, and her customers, the most joy is being a vendor at the Chappaqua Farmers’ Market, with Ms. D’s Mediterranean Delights.

“I love the one-on-one interaction I get at the market,” Sintilas says. Her menu generally includes 10 items — with staples such as spanakopita and moussaka, plus a rotating selection of soups, dips, and dessert. “Food is in my blood, and I love to experiment and add twists to traditional Greek recipes,” she says. Sintilas notes being at the market lets her see what other vendors are carrying, and that leads to inspiration and collaboration. Many of her dishes are vegetarian, and she also makes special holiday dishes.
Sintilas says the people who shop the Chappaqua Farmers’ Market are “knowledgeable and adventurous.” She wants her passion for food to come through and for her customers to say, after trying one of her dishes, “I have to have more of that.”
