Westchester County To Open 6 Golf Courses For The Season

Mild winter yields early spring launch for golf season starting March 16.

Conditions permitting, the six Westchester County golf courses will open for play March 16.  The reservation system will be available March 9, so set your alarm clock for 12:01 AM and bookmark https://direct.activegolf.com to beat the crowd. The county has discontinued the automated telephone reservation system but you can still or visit the course of your choice to make a tee time.

Westchester County’s courses are bargains, especially for park pass holders.  The highest greens fee for residents on weekends and holidays is only $36 and weekdays are $32–$25 for seniors and juniors!  If you absolutely must ride a cart, it’s $19 per player.  Take my advice and walk, though. It’s not only cheaper, it’s a lot healthier.  You can also save by playing at twilight.

These rates apply to Dunwoodie, Maple Moor, Mohansic, Saxon Woods, and Sprain Lake. Hudson Hills is slightly higher. You can find rates at www.hudsonhillsgolf.com.
