The Golf Range Association of America ranks the private club in Westchester County among the nation’s top 50 practice ranges.
The Apple Tree Learning Center earned “Top 50” recognition for The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club in Hastings from the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA). The national award was in the private club category.
“When our Board approved building The Apple Tree Learning Center, we were committed to making our golf training facilities world class,” says Vik Atal, President, The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club. “This recognition affirms our vision and confirms that the objective set out by the Board has been achieved.”
The Apple Tree Learning Center is a state-of-the-art teaching facility open year-round for practice and professional instruction. It features three hitting bays equipped with some of the most advanced golf teaching technology available. There’s also a separate putting instruction area that employs SAM PuttLab technology, a comprehensive analysis and training system.
In addition to the indoor facility, Saint Andrew’s golf training campus provides five specialized game improvement areas. A two-tiered, long-game practice area features target greens, fairway bunkers, and 30-plus hitting sites. Adjacent to the long-game practice area is a unique uneven lies practice and teaching area. Behind it is a dedicated short-game practice area designed to accommodate approach shots of 50 yards or less. A second short-game practice area, designed to replicate the steep side-hill lies that guard most of the greens on the golf course, is dedicated to chipping and sand game practice. A large, two-tiered putting green adjacent to the clubhouse offers both regulation-size cups and a small-hole practice area for golfers focusing on their putting prowess.
“We’re gratified to have been selected by the GRAA as one of the country’s top 50 ranges,” says head golf professional Gregory Bisconti, PGA. “Our membership has fully embraced our expanded training facilities and, especially during the winter season, fully utilizes the Learning Center.”
