PGA Professional Brad Worthington moves up this year to director of golf operations, a new position at Pound Ridge Golf Club. The well-known figure in the metro golf community has been serving as director of instruction at the daily-fee course.

“Brad’s vast expertise and industry experience will help further our position as one of the top public golf facilities in the region,” says Ken Wang, owner of Pound Ridge. “He will not only continue to help foster our commitment to excellence in golf instruction, he will additionally be instrumental in our ongoing quest to provide our guests with a pure top-level golf experience on Pete Dye’s only design in the state of New York.”

In 2016, Worthington was named “Met Section PGA Professional of the Year.” He had previously been director of golf at Trump Golf Links Ferry Point as well as head pro at both Brooklawn CC in Fairfield and Atlantic GC in Bridgehampton. He currently serves as facilities advisor for the First Tee of Connecticut and has been chosen 11 times by Golf Digest for its annual “Best in State” instructor rankings.

“I am honored to continue in my new role with one of the most prominent public golf courses in the country,” Worthington says. “The business of golf is evolving rapidly and we look forward to keeping Pound Ridge at the pinnacle of creating a true country club experience for the daily fee player.” This June, Pound Ridge will host the 73rd annual Metropolitan Golf Association Public Links Championship.
