The New Rochelle Public Library is transforming into a golf course and game room on March 10 for its annual fundraiser.
Mini golf in the stacks? Say less. The New Rochelle Public Library Foundation is hoping to beat the winter blahs with a one-of-a-kind fundraiser on Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m. The event, Game On!, will offer an evening of after-hours fun in the main branch of the New Rochelle Public Library at 1 Library Plaza.
The NRPLF will turn the library into a giant fun-themed mini-golf course with help from a professional mini-golf company. There will also be spaces for a variety of games for adults, including a Mahjong parlor, lightning Scrabble and Wordle tournaments, guided crossword competitions, and ping pong. Music (including karaoke), nibbles, liquid libations, and a whiskey tasting will add pizzazz to an evening of after-hours fun in the library. Tickets cost $100 per person or $125 for ticket plus whiskey tasting, and all proceeds benefit the New Rochelle Public Library.
Local businesses and organizations have the opportunity to become a sponsor for the evening. They can choose between the event as a whole, a specific game, or one of the mini golf holes where they can design and build their own obstacles. For tickets and sponsorship opportunities, head over to the library’s website.
“Game On! will really put the “fun” in our annual fundraiser,” says Chris Selin, NRPLF President. “We had a big gala last spring, so we wanted to try something different this year. Game On! will be more relaxed, a chance to hang out and enjoy some friendly competition while raising funds to keep our library cutting-edge.”
Whether you self-identify as a bookworm or prefer a day on the green, this event is the best of both worlds while supporting your community.
