How Do You Get to Augusta National for the Masters?

The coolest way to travel to this month’s Masters Tournament is to join the many fans flying out of Westchester County Airport with Wheels Up, the private aviation solution that not only lands you and your friends ten minutes from the Augusta National Golf Club but provides an incredible hospitality experience on site as well.

Wheels Up flies you into Augusta in a King Air 350i, which has short runway performance that allows the luxurious aircraft to land at Daniel Field, a small airport that services general aviation only. Most other private aircraft require a longer runway, so commercial airports further away are used. Last year, Wheels Up provided more than 60 flights in and out of Daniel Field for the Masters.

It’s easy at Westchester County Airport, too. “At HPN, Wheels Up Members can drive up to their own aircraft, 20 minutes before their scheduled departure time,” according to Wheels Up CEO Kenny Dichter. “Upon arrival, members are greeted by two Gama Aviation captain-qualified pilots, each with an average of 5,000 hours of experience. After the pilots check passenger IDs and load up the bags, it’s Wheels Up!”

Once you get to Augusta, the luxury treatment continues at the company’s daytime hospitality house, where Wheels Up members enjoy live music, food and beverages, item storage, and live TV to watch the rounds in comfort if they don’t have tickets. Thursday night, members will head to a private residence for the exclusive Wheels Up nighttime party. After the party, around 10 p.m., members can head straight to Daniel Field Airport or Augusta Regional Airport to hop on their Wheels Up plane and be back home that night if they’re not staying for the rest of the tournament.

Wheels Up is a unique membership-based private aviation service that says it makes flying as easy as booking an Uber or Airbnb. Using the company’s app and website, members can book flights, propose their flights for sharing by other members, and chat directly with proposing members to coordinate details.
