Sanford C. Proner, a board-certified podiatrist with offices in Dobbs Ferry and Bronxville, says there are easy ways to keep your feet from aching.
1. Wear comfy shoes with good support and opt for rubber soles over leather for better shock absorption.
2. Alternate heel heights. If you only wear high heels, the Achilles tendon contracts and you won’t be able to wear lower heels.
3. If the shoe fits, wear it. If it doesn’t, don’t. Ill-fitting shoes can cause major problems and all kinds of pain, so put your ego aside and stop trying to fit that 10 wide into an 8 medium.
