Get a First Peek Inside Armonk’s Newest Comfort Food Haven

Not to be confused with the similarly named Harrison restaurant, Kitchen 273 is positioning itself to be a new area favorite thanks to some culinary innovation and its welcoming atmosphere.

Decked out in exposed brick and rustic chandeliers, dining at Kitchen 273 is designed to be as inviting as its food, a menu of traditional and New American classics with sprinklings of Mediterranean touches to accentuate and heighten the dishes.

Owner Fatmin Pushka, an active Armonk resident for the last 15 years, puts a high premium on quality food and impeccable service. “Restaurant owners and staff must do their best to create a nice ambience, preparing good drinks, serving delicious food and making [guests] feel that it was worth getting in a car and coming for a visit,” he says. Also owning Barn Door Restaurant just over the border in Ridgefield, Pushka wanted to open a friendly, welcoming local space where customers could bring their families, enjoy a romantic evening out, or just catch part of the game over happy hour at the bar.

The menu includes decadent options like lobster buratta and chicken Scarpiello — organic chicken served with hot, sweet cherry peppers and garlic over a bed of broccoli rabe — as well as more traditional American comfort food such as grass-fed rib eye in house-made herb sauce, mac and cheese, blistery flatbreads, and the all-American 273 Burger. The kitchen prefers locally-sourced ingredients whenever available, and gluten-free options are available for many menu items.

Lighter bites are also available, like a potato cheese croquette, sweet chili organic chicken skewers, gambas ala hijo, and stuffed clams, and guests will especially enjoy them off the happy hour menu, available every weekday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Guests can also use that opportunity to test out Kitchen 273’s custom cocktail creations like the Armonk Paloma: a riff on the classic Paloma, this version mixes blanco tequila with blood orange liqueur, pineapple juice, and chili simple syrup and serves it in a glass rimmed with chili salt.

Opened just last month, Kitchen 273 is quickly becoming an area favorite, but whether you walk in for your first meal or your hundredth, you’re bound to be welcomed as a neighbor.
