If you need to boost your shoe wardrobe without breaking the bank, we’ve got you covered. The first stop for any self-respecting bargain shoe hunter in Westchester is of, course, DSW. The mega-store has locations in Port Chester, Yonkers, and Mohegan Lake, and carries nearly every brand and type of shoe imaginable for men, women, and children—at steep discounts.
For high-end bargains, head to White Plains for our three favorites: Neiman Marcus’ Last Call biannual sales (held in January and July), at which you’ll find up to 65 percent off on brands including Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Manolo Blahnik, and Valentino; Nordstrom’s twice-a-year clearance sales (held in May and November for women and kids; June and December for men) and annual anniversary sale in July, for rock-bottom prices on popular brands like Cole Haan, Vince Camuto, Tory Burch, and Stuart Weitzman; and off-price, must-shop Nordstrom Rack, which offers a wide selection of on-trend shoes at everyday savings of 30 to 70 percent off regular prices for men, women and children.
If small local boutiques are more your speed, you’ll find lovely (sorry, couldn’t resist) bargains at Love Shoes. To the same great mix of brands like Ugg, Stuart Weitzman, Coach, DVF, Superga, Cole Hahn, Sorel, Hunter, and Kate Spade, new owner Boris Shalomov is adding trunk shows, family-and-friends sales, sidewalk sales, and discount promotions for Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, back-to-school, and holidays. The store will also offer special sales via email, Facebook, and Twitter.
And perennial Westchester favorite Heller’s Shoes (in Pleasantville and Mount Kisco) offers men’s and women’s shoes from brands like Matisse, Rocket Dog, the Flex, Eric Michaels, and Ugg—with prices starting at around $39. Semi-annual sales in early July and right after Thanksgiving mean extra savings of 20 to 50 percent. Watch also for occasional storewide 20-percent-off sales.
