Military personnel and youngsters will get special attention at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship June 6 to 14. Free admission and special golf clinics with PGA and LPGA professionals are just two of the great attractions from the groups staging the tournament, KPMG, the PGA of America’s charitable PGA REACH foundation, the LPGA, and the NBC-owned Golf Channel.
A day of free golf, fun stations, activities, and an inspiring performance by trick-shot golfer Dennis Walters will be held for members of the armed forces and young people at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York on Saturday, June 6, from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Met PGA professionals and local LPGA pros will provide group instruction and conduct friendly competitions. Topics of instruction will include full swing, chipping, bunker play, and putting.
Before the clinics begin, Dennis Walters will demonstrate some fabulous trick shots made even more impressive by the fact that the one-time PGA Tour aspirant is paralyzed from the waist down. His show is equal parts inspiration and entertainment.

During tournament week, members of the armed forces will receive complimentary daily ground tickets to the June 9-14 championship at Westchester Country Club. Those on active duty, veterans, active reserve, National Guard members, and employees of the Department of Defense will be admitted free when they present their identification cards at the Admissions & Will Call office at the main spectator entrance. Those qualified for free admission can bring their spouses, who will also be admitted free of charge.
Attendees 17 and under will be admitted free, too, when accompanied by a ticketed adult (maximum of four juniors per adult). The youngsters can get their tickets at the Admissions & Will Call office on the day of attendance.
To enjoy the free events, participants must register by May 29, so go here to register before time runs out!
