Love craft beer? Love pizza and Italian food? Then this beer pairing dinner ought to crisp your crust: on Tuesday October 7 at 8 pm, Harpoon Brewery will be pairing four of its craft beers with four courses at Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in White Plains. Here’s what you’ll get:
- UFO White paired with classic Italian and fresh mozzarella and tomato salads
- Harpoon IPA paired with meatballs with ricotta cheese and Eggplant Marino (named after NFL Hall-of-Famer and restaurant partner Dan Marino)
- Rich & Dan’s Rye IPA paired with coal oven-roasted chicken wings and pork ribs with vinegar peppers
- The Storm Trooper (mix of Harpoon Leviathan IPA and UFO White) paired with traditional cheese, roasted cauliflower, and broccoli rabe and sausage pizzas
If you don’t know Anthony’s, it’s a Florida-based chain that uses 800-degree coal-burning ovens to craft pizza with imported Italian plum tomatoes and dough made daily in-house. The oven is also put to good use for focaccia, used for sandwiches and served with Italian Soul Food (such as the meatballs above). Harpoon Brewery, out of New England, was one of the country’s first craft breweries and is now one of its largest—a macro microbrewery, if you will.
