The Picture House, a nonprofit organization that is working on restoring and renovating the 1921 Pelham Picture House, held a fundraiser at the Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club. Some 250 guests attended the event, which raised $200,000—enough to begin some of the major work needed to turn the 300-seat theater into a major art house for the southern region of the county. The Picture House has grand (and, dare we say, thrilling) ambitions for the theater. And this fundraiser should help it meet its goals. “Our fundraiser generated tremendous momentum,” says Picture House Executive Director Jennifer Christman. “This success means that we have reached a milestone in our campaign and can begin renovating the theater. We hope this momentum will keep building as we continue to raise funds.”
