The Food Bank for Westchester held its seventh annual Hunger Heroes Awards Breakfast at Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown. Tony Aiello, CBS 2 news reporter and New Rochelle resident, was emcee for the more than 300 guests. Among those honored for having a positive impact in the fight against hunger in the past year were Fred’s Pantry in Peekskill (service provider), White Plains resident Lorraine Buonocunto of the Ecumenical Emergency Food Pantry (volunteer), Neri’s Bakery Products, Inc., in Port Chester (donor), and Morgan Stanley Foundation (corporate service). Additionally, the organization presented a trophy to Stop & Shop for the Golden Scoop Corporate Competition, which was held in May at the nonprofit’s new Elmsford warehouse.
