Golfers looking for a “new normal” golf getaway have a unique option this summer. Pinehurst Resort has partnered with JSX Airlines to provide a seasonal, “pop-up” non-stop flight between Westchester County Airport and Moore County Airport, a full service FBO five minutes from the North Carolina resort.
JSX provides charter service with 30-seat Embraer 135s and 145s and bundles it with Pinehurst’s “Summer Tee Golf Package” for a limited time. The fly/play package includes flight, lodging, three rounds of golf, (including on fabled Pinehurst No. 2), breakfast, and dinner. The package is $2,500 for a three-night stay and $2,900 for four nights.
Let’s face it, flying commercial during and post the Covid-19 pandemic is daunting even for the most seasoned travelers. Pinehurst and JSX are flipping the script for traveling golfers, making flying fast, safe and clean, and downright enjoyable and affordable. Because the flights are private charter, there are no long TSA security lines, lengthy boarding processes, or sitting parked on the tarmac for hours.
Best of all, when the golfers deplane, they’re only five minutes from the first tee on one of Pinehurst’s nine excellent courses.
The service runs Thursday through Sunday (for three-night stays), and Sunday through Thursday (for four-night stays) beginning June 18 for a limited time. Flights leave Westchester County in mid-afternoon and arrive at Moore County ninety minutes later. Sunday, return flights will depart Moore County in the early afternoon and arrive at Westchester County mid-afternoon.
