Flight Out of Westchester Airport Forced Into Emergency Landing

A JetBlue airplane that departed from Westchester Airport Friday morning made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport after striking a bird mid-flight.

Around 9:30 am, shortly after takeoff, JetBlue flight 671 struck a bird, which tore a hole in the nose of the plane, according to ABC News.  Air Traffic Control instructed the pilot to land at JFK on runway 22 shortly before 10 am. None of the plane’s more than 140 passengers were reported injured.
