In our August issue, we introduced you to Method 10533, a studio in Irvington offering strenuous classes that combines elements of Pilates, cardio, and strength training.
Actually, “strenuous” might be an understatement. When we sent assistant editor Scott Simone to test out a class, he came back saying it was one of the toughest workouts he’d attempted. “I was stretching my muscles more than I probably ever had, and the burn was instant,” he wrote. “I started praying that my dripping sweat would mask the tears I was sure would start flowing.”
That burn, Simone notes, came courtesy of the Lagree Method, a workout regimen founded by Sebastien Lagree, a French-born former Pilates instructor and personal trainer to the stars.
This week, Lagree can be trainer to you, too. Though he’s usually based in L.A., Lagree will stop by Method 10533’s Irvington Studio on Thursday, September 4. He’ll lead two sessions, one at 6:30 pm and another at 7:30 pm. Spots are sure to be reserved quickly—the limit is 10 students per class—so be sure to reserve early.
