Fall for These Truly Unique Seasonal Craft Beverages

Sorry, pumpkin spice latte, maybe next year.

Whether we wanted to or not, we’ve said goodbye to summer and hello to fall. As the season changed, so did our drink preferences, but there’s more to fall drinks than pumpkin-spice lattes and mulled cider. Take look at some of these delicious, unique seasonal drinks.

Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate at Black Cat Cafe

45 Main St, Irvington; 914.231.9060

Two classics combine to make Black Cat Café’s Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate. The beverage is made with gently steamed, very hot, organic milk to which they add real peanut butter and dark chocolate syrup. Of course, why not top it off with freshly whipped organic cream, mini dark chocolate chips, and/or marshmallows?

First Village Coffee likes to try out ingredients that you wouldn’t normally think to pair with coffee. Made with fig syrup and rosemary from First Village’s own herb boxes, this unique latte works surprisingly well. Try getting it while you can, because this seasonal drink won’t be around all-year long.

Miso Kiss Cider at Diner Brew Co.

2 Cortlandt St, Mount Vernon; 914.439.2497

Fall is the time for cider. Westchester native Christopher Sheldon opened Diner Brew Co. roughly a year ago, producing hard, bottled-by-hand ciders from locally sourced ingredients. One of their most interesting flavors is the Bisou Miso “Miso Kiss,” hard cider flavored with Shiro Miso. Dry and savory, its saltiness complements the drink’s apple character.

If you want something that screams fall, try this themed drink at North End Tavern. Made with vanilla vodka, Irish cream and pumpkin pie liqueur, it’s finished with a dash of cinnamon, whipped cream, and festive candy corn. Only available until the end of October, look out for other drink specials — North End Tavern will create a new one every Friday — throughout the season.

Hawaiian Coconut Coffee at Tazza Café

400 Main St, Armonk; 914.273.0788

If you refuse to accept that the weather is getting colder, you can still enjoy a bit of summer with this coffee from the Tazza Café. Made with freshly ground coconut, the blend can also be done iced so you can pretend you’re on a Hawaiian island, not snuggled up by the fire.
