This season, hit up one of these new-ish spas in Westchester County for deep cleansing and luxurious relaxation.
If you’re diligent about protecting your skin, you’ll likely be slathering on a TON of sunscreen in the coming months. My long time go-to is ColoreScience’s Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield Classic SPF 50 ($39; Euro Laser Spa Services, Rye); and my new staple this season for added protection or as a swift touch up over makeup is COOLA’s Classic Face Organic Sunscreen Mist SPF 50 ($28; Sephora, The Westchester, White Plains; Ridge Hill, Yonkers). Though a summer makeup routine (a hot pink lip and a little blush) typically includes fewer products than winter’s, the vigilant reapplication of sunscreen might have you craving professional cleansing and exfoliation for sparkling, squeaky clean skin. Here are 4 facials from spas relatively new to the county (post pandemic) to indulge in this summer — or any time.
Botanic Face & Body
Tarrytown
This Rivertowns micro spa was awarded our 2022 Best of Westchester editor’s pick for Best Micro Spa — and for good reason. The facials here are elevated, starting at an indulgent 75 minutes. Owner and aesthetician Theresa Naman meticulously treats each individual with care and precision. She specializes in sensitive skin (the products she uses are plant-based). The Classic Couture, which offers the royal treatment, is a customized facial that cleanses, exfoliates, and includes light extractions and a mask (luxurious hand/arm massage included!). Expect a deeply relaxing experience.

European Luxury Spa
White Plains
This new kid on the block is known for its unique-to-the-county services like its Luxury Chocolate Body Indulgence, bamboo massage therapy, Charcoal Acne and Pore Facial, and Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Facial. But even the basics here are a luxe experience. The European Deep Cleansing Facial offers the standard gentle and purifying cleansing with optional extractions for a treatment that is tailored to individual skin type; lending towards being an easy selection for a monthly go-to. The spacious relaxation room and extensive service list is an extra bonus.

Farida Skincare Studio
White Plains
When we rounded up the experiences you have to indulge in as a Westchesterite if you are a beauty buff, this micro spa was a shoe-in. Treatments here are highly customizable. A bespoke facial we experienced recently featured deep cleansing with an alpha-beta cleanser with a mechanical brush, exfoliation with lactic acid and cranberry enzymes, ultrasound deep peel, extraction, anti-bacterial solution, and a cool stone. Complimentarily included in all facial treatments here is a paraffin foot massage — just the start of the relaxation. Following was a 15-minute LED light treatment to stimulates cellular activity (later also used on the hands); a soothing facial massage with peptides, vitamin C, and hyaluronic concentrate; dermaplaning; and a collagen mask. During the mask, a microcurrent device was utilized: a low-voltage current is passed through the skin to create a lifting effect, aimed at creating a youthful appearance. This kind of over-the-top luxurious experience with meticulous detail understandably has created repeat skin-centric clients countywide.

Beauty Fix MedSpa
Larchmont
Facials are a newer addition to this NYC-based med spa that focuses on both surgical and nonsurgical “fixes” (think: filler, Botox, and body sculpting). The “skin fixes” include a litany of treatments, including dermaplaning (bye, peach fuzz), microneedling, and IPL. Also on the menu is the HydraFacial, the antioxidant-boosting treatment we all know and love. While you can have the service target your face (as is typical), you can also opt for a booty treatment at this modern spa. The HydraFacial for the booty is designed to cleanse, extract, and exfoliate the skin on your derrière, while working to reduce dead skin, acne, and uneven skin tone — a fine offering in advance of strolling bikini-clad on the beach this season.
