Etain Expands Its Cannabis Offerings in White Plains

A Mount Kisco family is taking its once medical-only dispensary to a shop in White Plains, adding recreational products to the lineup.

The Peckham women had an unshakable female role model growing up — their grandma, Frances Keeffe, who was the ultimate source of joy in their lives. When she was diagnosed with ALS, sisters Keeley and Hillary, along with their mom Amy, sought something to alleviate Frances’ pain. In their research, they discovered the numerous benefits that medical marijuana had to offer. “If we could offer someone that level of comfort, why wouldn’t we?” asks Hillary Peckham, founder and vice president of marketing of Etain, which is named after the Irish goddess Étaín, a symbol of transformation and rebirth. Calling upon the fighting spirit of their matriarch, the Peckham women set out to do just that: transform and change the way marijuana is seen by the public.

Founded in 2015, Etain is New York’s first women-founded dispensary and was one of the original five medical operators in the state, bringing almost a decade of experience in cannabis, dispensary management, and customer relations to their new co-located adult use and medical dispensary.

Running the full gambit for medical necessities and recreational usage, Etain offers everything from pre-rolled joints to tasteless and odorless THC powder that can be added to any liquid. As far as the plant portion of their products, the Peckham women intentionally grow the plants in a facility in the Adirondack mountains. Keeping with their mission of supporting fellow women-owned businesses, the other products carried by Etain are from women-owned brands, mostly brands central to New York and hand-curated by the team. “Now that we’re in a place to hold up others, we want to create more of a space for other female-fronted brands,” says Peckham. “It’s important to our mission and what the brand stands for.”

For medical cannabis patients, a Very Important Patient (VIP) experience awaits, with priority access, a dedicated check-out line, and exclusive access to Etain’s on-site pharmacist — ensuring continued access to premium medical cannabis products and maintaining the essence of a concierge medical experience.

“The goal was for it to be bright and inviting, where people feel comfortable to shop.”

Stepping into the White Plains dispensary, the stunning mural and visually striking merchandising will freeze you in your tracks — this is not how your parents bought their weed. “We wanted the space to feel like an art gallery,” says Jes Feuer, head of marketing. “The goal was for it to be bright and inviting, where people feel comfortable to shop.” The airy, open floor plan blends integrative wellness offerings, personal consultations, and products for all needs, to create an inviting space.

Meander to the back wall to stare at the space’s crown jewel: a bespoke mural bursting with color and texture by street artist Claw Money. Inspired by her Etain Limited Edition Motif Vape Battery design and custom Balance Blend Pod, the vibrant mural features Money’s distinctive claw insignia amidst sharp graphic lines, complemented by floral decor. Visiting the dispensary transforms from a get-in-get-out-quick situation to a full experience that dares you to linger as the preconceived societal notions about cannabis usage dissipate.

With a brand mantra to “Take a Moment,” the Peckham women and the staff not only encourage their patients, customers, and community to prioritize health and wellness, but hope everyone will pause for just a moment to enjoy life’s simple pleasures and embrace the beauty of each day. “We’re building a business, but we’re building a family, too,” says Hillary Peckham. “This started as a family business, and we want our customers to feel that extension of us.”
