To say that back-to-school season is busy is an understatement. There’s figuring out what to do with the kids during the gap between camp, vacation, and school; hunting around picked-over stores for that last hard-to-find item on the school shopping list; and figuring out what the new school schedule is like. Oh yes, and then there’s that required back-to-school physical, which is easy to completely forget about until the normal primary care doctor is completely, fully, and totally booked.
You did remember to make an appointment, didn’t you? If not, there’s no reason to camp out outside the GPs office and hope for mercy. Instead, head over to Formé Urgent Care (White Plains 914-723-4900; www.formeurgentcare.com), which is currently offering school physicals with no appointment necessary—just walk right in. (If you’re a little more on-the-ball about this, you can also make an appointment.) Parents don’t usually think of going to an urgent care facilty for a routine physical—which is pretty much the opposite of urgent—but Formé assures that doctors there are prepared to give students a clean bill of health to join activities and make sure that all of their immunizations are up-to-date. Formé prides itself on its short wait times, and it’s located right next to the City Center in White Plains, so afterwards you can see if Target has that last impossible-to-find school supply.
