The former financier utilizes her background in graphic design and knowledge of drawing and ceramics to create custom menus, linens, place cards, and plate chargers for birthday parties, weddings, Sweet 16s, and product launches.
Grounds works closely with event producers and other entrepreneurs to help her ideas, and those of her clients, come to life. One of her signature products are leather menus with custom designs. She sketches the desired look, and teams up with a leather company and graphic designer to create the outline before she puts them together by hand.
A unique assignment was creating invitations hidden within giant eggs that were hand-delivered to guests in a wooden crate filled with bacon and grits (and mallets to break the eggs). Making 200 took Grounds months to complete.
Grounds works on both domestic and international events, having created marble place cards and a custom tablecloth for a party in Ibiza, Spain, and a wooden backdrop for the product launch of The Laughing Cow in New York City. Grounds hopes to partner with more event producers, to expand her portfolio and creations.
