This industry veteran has been tasked with taking the reins at the iconic former Ritz-Carlton in White Plains.
When it opened to the public in April, The Opus, Westchester, an Autograph Collection Hotel from its Marriot parent company, has its doors open to provide a luxury experience for guests overseen by hospitality veteran Elizabeth Andrews as General Manager.
In her role as General Manager, Andrews will be responsible for supervising all hotel operations and will play a key role in the training and development of the Opus team. Such tasks will be no small feat, as The Opus, Westchester features 146 guestrooms and 38 luxury suites, 10 event spaces, an indoor rooftop pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, and more.
“I am elated to be joining the team at The Opus, Westchester and leading the opening efforts around this exciting new property, combining my passions and expertise in luxury hospitality, creativity, and art,” says Andrews. “I feel lucky to have a fantastic team behind me to help bring The Opus experience, including its artistic tenor and strong sense of community, to life.”
She ads, “I am confident I can help lead The Opus to success through our dedication to helping the Westchester community rebuild, providing reverberating experiences, and sophisticated touchpoints for our guests from both near and far.”
After more than 20 years of experience, Andrews is no stranger to the hospitality industry. Starting her career in the hotel business as a front desk agent at 60 Thompson (now SIXTY SoHo), Andrews worked her way up the ranks and has since taken on the role of General Manager at several boutique luxury properties throughout New York City. Andrews also worked as Vice President at the Jade Hotel, which has since become the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village.
Now, in her new role at The Opus, Westchester, Andrews plans to employ her extensive background in art to lead the property with a spirit of musicality and artisanal details.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Elizabeth’s background and caliber leading the operations at The Opus, Westchester,” say The Opus, Westchester owners Yaniv Blumenfeld and Mark Weissman. “Elizabeth has the fresh energy, luxury hospitality experience, and keen eye this unique property requires. We are thrilled to see where her passion, innovation, and drive can take The Opus, Westchester.”
