Eight Pretty Prom Looks

Curly or straight? Up or down? There are no set rules for prom hairstyles, as shown by these great looks created by the Vasken Demirjian Salon in White Plains for the Rock the Red Carpet fashion runway show earlier this month. See slide show for Vasken’s comments on each style.

Jacqueline Groccia, Eastchester; style by Jamie Ryder. “This style allows freedom of movement, works for day and evening, and can accommodate both an open or closed dress.”

Danielle Erenstein, Dobbs Ferry; style by Aysen Hurriyet. “This look is reminiscent of Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries. It is an elegant chignon, perfect for a prom.

Samantha Gold (Miss Westchester Teen), Armonk; style By Yolanda Recino. “This is simple, age-appropriate, and easy to achieve.”

Michelle Mantey, Elmsford; style by Aysen Hurriyet. “She looks Hollywood-elegant, runway-model statuesque, and perfectly stunning.”

Erin Wynne, Yonkers; style by Aysen Hurriyet. “The loose pony tail, teased and still controlled, gracefully drops on the opposite side of her asymmetrical dress.”

Alexandra Oberrotman, Rye Brook; style by Jamie Ryder. “This carefree style looks great on with a sleeveless dress and is easy to achieve at home with either Velcro rollers and/or large curling irons.”

Sarah Hreyo, Yonkers; style by Yolanda Recino. “This model had textured hair, so we softened her tight curls and re-shaped them into a stylized chignon. The look requires accessories, either drop or chandelier earrings.
Shannon Rusbuldt, Yonkers; style by Aysen Hurriyet. “Similar to Erin’s look with a sophisticated twist, meant to be worn with a sleeveless dress, either an asymmetrical or strappy gown.
