Spa Mantra “We named ourselves Bronxville Wellness Sanctuary because we wanted to create a space where people could thrive,” says co-owner Stephanie Filardi. “We offer varied services, from facials to energy work, to help people to find well-being, to connect back to their sanctuary inside.”
Aura In the heart of Bronxville village, the place isn’t big, but the ambience is cozy and soothing, and it smells great, too. One’s shoulders seem to naturally lower with ebbing tension upon simply stepping inside (even after doing battle with traffic on the Hutch to get there on time).
Mind/Body Filardi’s approach doesn’t seem to separate mind and body; the interconnections are just too strong. Her spa offers Reiki and shamanic healing, intuitive coaching and meditation workshops, among other spiritual practices, in addition to skincare and body work. “It’s all about transfer of energy, whether you’re getting a massage, a facial, or doing yoga,” says Filardi.
About Face Not sure it’s even an exaggeration to say that the Ultimate Facial here might change your life: The process includes head-and-neck massage, a hand scrub, and even a bit of reflexology (foot massage). The face is treated with a series of oils, creams, mists, and steam, massaged with a jade stone and gently jolted with an electric current to lift and tighten. You’ll emerge looking bright and well-rested — no redness or downtime.
The Rub Massages are the most commonly booked treatment here, and the choices are many. “We do basic Swedish to traditional Thai massage and everything in-between,” says Filardi, including Positional Therapy that’s intended to relieve pain.
