Good Choice Kitchen, a fast-casual restaurant featuring organic, vegan, non-GMO, plant-based and mostly local sustainably-grown ingredients, has brought the concept of clean eating to Ossining. Judging by the steady stream of smiling customers since February’s opening, it’s clear there is a demand here for this kind of food.
Owner Laurie Gershgorn, a longtime personal chef trained at New York City’s Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, discovered firsthand that eating well is the way to illness prevention and wellness. A natural progression of her career and beliefs, she “wanted a community interactive location where we could serve people of all socio-economic levels and expose more people to more healthy whole foods that are all organic and sustainable products and sustainably grown.”
