The Capitol Theatre—This 1,800-seat concert venue on the National Register of Historic Places has had previous incarnations as a catering hall and vaudeville and cinema theater. Acts ranging from the Stones and the Grateful Dead to the Spin Doctors and Courtney Love have performed here. The grand-opening performance in 1926 included “The Star Spangled Banner” by a 10-piece orchestra and a showing of The Sea Wolf (based on the Jack London novel). A double feature at the time cost a nickel.
El Tio—Jay and Patty Barajas have been serving genuine Mexican fare (try the chimichangas and taco trio) since 1991.
Hubba—Formerly know as Pat’s Hubba Hubba, Hubba is a greasy-spoon institution where seating consists of 13 counter stools, dollar bills stand in for wallpaper, and menu items are scribbled on paper plates in marker. Whatever you order, get chili on it.
Berger True Value Hardware—Skip the nearby Home Depot and opt instead for this independently owned hardware store for everything from key-cutting to a new grill.
Pollo A La Brasa – Misti Restaurant—The name refers to blackened or rotisserie chicken, so you know the signature dish to order at this Peruvian restaurant.
Spanish-American War Memorial—Okay, so it’s no World War II or Civil War (it lasted but 4 months), but the 1898 Spanish-American War did give the US two of its five unincorporated territories: Guam and Puerto Rico. The names of 22 Port Chester men who died serving in the conflict are inscribed here.

bartaco—California-beach-bar-inspired décor; Mexican street fare; a curated tequila list; and a stylish patio facing the Byram River make this a hotspot for people-watching and hook-ups.
Landmark Condominium (former Life Savers factory)—Remember the giant Life Savers replicas that once adorned the lawn at this former factory from 1920 to 1984? Production of Life Savers now happens in Montreal, Canada.
