First it was Eastchester Road in the Bronx, and then on Main Street in Port Chester. As of late August, Coals’ newest location is in Bronxville in the space that formerly held The Station House, and the eatery is offering its signature hand-stretched, amoeba-shaped, thin-crusted pizzas grilled over a coal fire.
The Smokey Joe (Fontinella, smoked mozzarella, tomato, pecorino, sweet capicola, and red onion); Pure Bliss (fresh mozzarella, ricotta, tomato, basil pesto, and pecorino); and the Heaven Scent (aged provolone, fresh mozzarella, tomato, fresh garlic) are pizzas to sample. They also do killer burgers. For dessert, indulge in the fluffernutter pie with Nutella and mascarpone.
As at the Port Chester location, Coals Bronxville features a curated draft-beer selection, but also offers more international beers, including many bottles and cans.
