Did You Know These Facts About the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge?

Like the Tappan Zee Bridge, it, too, is 139 feet above the main navigation channel and owned by the New York State Thruway Authority.

Its spans opening roughly one year apart, the new $4 billion bridge between Westchester and Rockland counties, designed and built by consortium Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) sparked our curiosity, and maybe yours, too.

When the project is completed, both spans will have four general traffic lanes, two emergency shoulders on each side of the respective span and a bus lane on the right side. Landing points in Tarrytown and South Nyack will feature parking lots, bicycle repair stations, restrooms and other visitor amenities, and links to local bicycle and pedestrian networks.
