It has been a banner year for White Plains Hospital, celebrating its 125th anniversary, and Dawn French has played an instrumental role in planning events for the anniversary while building the hospital’s brand awareness.
French, along with her team, has created a powerhouse brand for the hospital, which generated nearly $1 billion in economic activity last year. Overseeing the hospital’s advertising and PR campaigns, plus events and community outreach, she has raised the visibility of the hospital for patients and helped attract top-tier healthcare talent.
French constantly thinks about the patient. “In the marketing department, we aren’t directly saving lives, but we do make an impactful difference by enhancing the patient experience,” she says. She proudly notes that a patient survey last year indicated that 98 percent of patients would recommend the hospital to their friends and/or family.
“In the marketing department, we aren’t directly saving lives, but we do make an impactful difference by enhancing the patient experience.”
French, who obtained a master’s in public health while working full-time and raising a family, is constantly looking for innovative ways to connect with patients and under her leadership launched Health Matters, a consumer-centric magazine full of health information that gets sent to all Westchester homes. She’s also created a podcast series, called healthTALK.
The most important message that French wants to drive home is that the hospital delivers “care without compromise” right here in the community.
