Crosby Street Hotel

Though located in the heart of New York City’s SoHo, the Crosby Street Hotel feels a lot like the Soho from across the pond. London-based co-owner Kit Kemp has imbued the hotel with her trademark quirky-chic British style. Funky modern art (the lobby boasts a 10-foot steel sculpture of a human head created from alphabet letters), unique textures, and Kemp’s signature mix-and-match patterns grace each room — with dog motifs everywhere (the queen would be pleased!). Need proof that you’re still stateside? The 86 bedrooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling warehouse-style windows that are quintessential New York, and the luxurious rooms have every creature comfort picky Americans depend upon.

At the hotel’s chic restaurant, The Crosby Bar, colorful décor mixes with a seasonal menu and creative cocktails bearing witty names like Zanzi Bar and The Oscar Goes To… Don’t miss afternoon tea (sipped pinky-up of course!) served at The Crosby Bar or in the Downton Abbey-esque guests-only drawing room. (Afternoon tea is also served at Kemp’s Midtown property, The Whitby, where you can spend a night in the 2-bedroom, 3-bath, multi-terrace Whitby Suite — you’ll literally feel like royalty — for a cool $15,000 per night.)

Instead of a night on the town, cap your day at the Crosby’s 99-seat screening room as part of the hotel’s Film Club, which includes a three-course dinner and a movie, plus free popcorn.
