A new way to satisfy that all-too-common crêpe craving recently arrived in Westchester. T-swirl crêpe, opening on Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains three months ago, combines a Japanese twist on the standard French treat with a modernized level of versatility that makes their gluten-free, rice flour crêpes perfect to grab and go.
Not that you would need to: T-swirl’s dining area, while small, is warm and welcoming. Trendy wooden tables sit in the natural sunlight coming in from the large storefront windows, and an open bench, along with pop music in the background, creates a social setting.
At the counter, you can watch the crêpe creators at work, crafting eye-catching treats, both sweet and savory. A local favorite, according to Manager Jason Zheng, is the blueberry NY cheesecake crêpe, stuffed with blueberries, whipped cream cheese and yogurt, and custard cream, and then topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, almonds and chocolate Pocky. The strawberry banana crêpe, a photogenic creation garnished with chocolate pearls and crushed pistachio, is also worthy of mention.

If you’re looking for something on the savory side, fillings like shrimp avocado, chicken teriyaki, Thai chicken, and the sesame dressing-topped Vegetarian Lover, packed with spinach, carrots, edamame, tofu, cucumbers, and asparagus, make for filling meals.
Overall, close to 28 different crêpe options make up a rather versatile menu, although T-salads are an alternative. Refreshing teas, sweetened or unsweetened, can finish off a meal. Some on offer include jasmine green tea, mango green tea, honey cucumber iced tea, and lavender iced tea, as well as strawberry banana or mango T-slushes.
For a new addition to the White Plains’ foodie scene, T-swirl crêpe is definitely getting its fair share of attention, and with colorful, flavorful menu options, will easily fit in.
