Getting your kids to eat healthy foods and enjoy them, too? Yes, it can happen. From cooking classes to cooking parties to catering, Chefs Angela Rivera and Anthony Accomando have built Chop Culinary Arts, their Mamaroneck-based cooking and entertainment company, around that very concept. The company’s next series of hands-on interactive cooking classes—each with a unique culinary focus—for kids, tweens, and teens begin October 26 at the Cook and Bake Center in Mamaroneck. “A Culinary Trip Around the World,” with separate sessions for ages 8 to 11 and ages 12 to 16, will take participants around the globe with yummy dishes (that also happen to be healthy) to create and take home. For young chef wannabes, “Petit Pastry Chefs” (ages 8 to 11) and “Pastry Chefs” (ages 12 to 16) focus on sweet treats and the basics of baking. Register for classes at chopculinaryarts.com. The company also hosts one-of-a-kind events and birthday parties (think sushi party, where kids learn to chop and roll like a pro).
