What Westchesterites Think About the COVID-19 Vaccines

With the vaccine rollout at full steam, we asked Westchester Magazine readers in an anonymous survey how they feel about the current crop of COVID shots and if they have a preference for any of them.

How do you feel about COVID vaccines and, if you are planning to get a vaccine or have already received one, which vaccine do you prefer?

Note: The poll ran from March 26 to April 19, 2021 and included 136 respondents.

A sampling of comments from polltakers:

“After the year that we had, I don’t understand the mentality of anyone who says they don’t want to get vaccinated!”

“I have antibodies, and even when they are gone, I trust my immune system over an unknown long-term side effect of the vaccine. I will not be taking it.”

“I prefer Johnson & Johnson because at least it’s only one dose. However, I don’t like the fact that everyone is pushing it on you to get it. It should be an individual decision. There are some people out there, myself included, who are actually allergic to the ingredients in the vaccines.”
