The Essentials: This much-loved, award-winning, pet-friendly country inn, built in the 1740s, has been revamped. Until now, weddings here were held under a tent on the huge lawn. But the addition includes a white barn and an updated greenhouse for weddings and special events. Now, the property can accommodate 300 (up from 200) guests. You and your guests, and your cherished pets, will be able to relax and drink in the country air and gorgeous views from either space on the five-acre estate.
Rooms: Weddings will now be held in either the gorgeous greenhouse or an all-white barn, and there are five cozy guestrooms for your overnight guests.
The Vibe: Relaxed, authentic, “down on the farm,” gracious country feel. You just can’t get any less pretentious than this — but that doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful. The food is spectacular, too. If you want a traditional sit-down dinner but a unique ambience, this is the place to do it.
Cost: Catering packages start at $120 per person; site fees range from $5,000 to $8,000, depending on the time of year.
What’s Included: The venue (greenhouse and barn), ceremony chairs, reception chairs, farm tables, place settings, linens, flatware, glassware, restrooms for up to 150 guests (additional rental required for 150+), onsite parking lot for up to 300 guests, PA system for the ceremony, sound system for band or DJ, parking attendant, and food/bar staff.
Standout Features: The location — it’s nestled in the shadow of Shawangunk Ridge — and the exclusive use of the property are fabulous features. But it’s the pet policy that draws many couples, since they can bring their beloved pooches along for the festivities and since dogs are allowed to roam free on the grounds and in the inn itself, as long as they don’t disturb others.
Best For: Country lovers, city dwellers who want to be a little bit country for the weekend, couples who want a lot for a little, those looking for authenticity and intimacy, couples on a budget, and, of course, pet owners who want their animals included. It’s also great for second weddings and vow renewals.
