Could You Say No to a DIY Bar Brunch?

Frankie & Fanucci’s Mamaroneck location is now serving a shareable brunch Saturdays and Sundays where you create your own Prosecco-based cocktails.

One of the most common questions I field as the editor heading up food and dining coverage for a lifestyle magazine is about where to go for brunch (the other being when can I be your plus-one to your next restaurant research outing). The answer to the brunch question has recently gotten a heck of a lot easier with the recent debut of the Social Brunch at Frankie & Fanucci’s Wood Oven Pizzeria featuring Pour Your Own Cocktails.

This brunch formula was first introduced at Sotto 13, another restaurant owned by the F&F team located in the West Village.

For $25 per person, the brunch includes a variety of wood-fired breakfast pizza (e.g., potato and bacon pizza with caramelized onions), brunch plates such as brioche French toast, braised short rib and egg, and creamy eggs Florentine, plus sides of sweet and spicy applewood-smoked bacon and oven-roasted potatoes. The food is served family-style and portioned based on the number of people at the.

Diners can pour their own drinks in the self-serve Taproom, selecting from 30-plus craft beer, wines, and Prosecco on tap. A chip-enabled card allows for pouring of any, or all, of the constantly rotating selections on tap. The $25 brunch includes up to $15 in alcohol (anymore and it’s at an additional cost).

Worth an extra $10 splurge is DIY Prosecco Bar Tray, where the table gets a tray of three fruit purées and juices, two liqueurs, and two garnishes. It comes with suggested pairings for each, or you can mix and match. Each tray serves 3 to 4 people.

“Brunch is about having fun with friends on a casual weekend afternoon,” said Brad Nagy, co-owner of Frankie & Fanucci’s. “This social brunch creates a festive setting that revolves around sharing food experiences at the table. Pouring your own drinks from our Taproom really elevates the fun allowing you to try many kinds of craft beers, wines, and Prosecco cocktails.”

The new brunch is available at the Mamaroneck location of Frankie & Fanucci’s every Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. An a la carte menu is also available. To kick off the spring brunch season, Frankie & Fanucci’s is offering a free DIY Prosecco Bar to each table with their social brunch through April 30 2017.
