Being a Westchester country club chef is not exactly a piece of cake. Not only do you need serious creds (culinary school, high-level experience), but your well-heeled, cosmopolitan clientele has great expectations and can easily flag you down to tell you exactly how to prepare that steak (just like Peter Luger, thank you very much). But there’s strength in numbers: Club Chefs of Westchester educates members with annual overseas trips and monthly meetings. Now, for the third year in a row, they’re teaming up with Baldor Specialty Foods to host a benefit for Bronx nonprofit Part of the Solution (POTS), which helps low-income New Yorkers become more self-sufficient with a wide range of programs from food distribution to case management. The Harvest Dine-Around Dinner, on November 11, from 7 to 10 pm at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, will not only showcase some of our best club chefs’ gourmet offerings but include drinks from Atlantic Wine & Spirits, desserts from Longford’s Ice Cream (Rye) and Sweet Lisa’s Exquisite Cakes (Greenwich, CT), and coffee from P Pascal (Yonkers). Get your tickets ($125, $100 of which is tax deductible) here.
