No one can accuse City Perch of not getting into the holiday spirit. The Dobbs Ferry restaurant, the food service division of luxury movie theater iPic, has special cocktail and food menus set for October 31. Mixologist Adam Seger’s dead-on cocktails include the Zombie, Dead Man Walking, Dia de la Muerte, Creepy Olde Fashioned, and Corpse Reviver #13. Chef Sherry Yard has stepped up her spook game too with a Halloween-themed food menu: smoked salmon brains with avocado and caviar; skewered Caprese dripping in balsamic blood; chopped, battered and crispy Reuben croquettes; slowly braised and tortured Korean short rib sliders; and The Guy with the Knife and White Coat in the Kitchen’s assorted Flatbreads.
“Halloween gives me the opportunity to curate theatrical cocktails using liquid nitrogen, black lime, blood orange, and grasshoppers along with the aromas of fall with flavors like fig, maple, and autumn-spiced ginger beer,” says Seger. “These flavors are taken to the next level like in the Corpse Reviver with hauntingly smoky notes in ESP Smoked Gin and Peloton de la Muerte Artisanal Mezcal.”
Will you dare to watch this dissection of smoked salmon brains? Or the living, mad creation, Dia de La Muerte Heizenberg, made with crushed black limes and black lava salt from Hawaii?
