Healthcare in Westchester becomes even more accessible with the unveiling of a top-tier facility in the heart of Westchester.
While the pandemic may be easing, its impacts will be with us for years to come, among those the need for accessible healthcare. Years in the making, White Plains Hospital’s recently unveiled outpatient facility looks to lead the charge by making world-class medicine available from its central county location.
In the heart of White Plains on the corner of Maple and Longview Avenues, the brand-new, nine-story outpatient center, officially known as The Center for Advanced Medicine and Surgery (CAMS), houses state-of-the-art operating rooms, advanced imaging, diagnostic testing, suites for specialty doctors, and more.
Since 2015, White Plains Hospital has renovated or added a total of 622,000 feet at its primary and offsite locations, culminating in the massive 252,000-square-foot CAMS facility. According to CEO Susan Fox, this nine-story medical center “represents an important step forward in expanding access to comprehensive care delivered by top healthcare professionals in diverse specialties.”
“The new Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery is a tremendous achievement,” says Dr. Philip Ozuah, President and CEO of Montefiore Medicine, with which White Plains Hospital is affiliated. The new center features ambulatory surgery, endoscopy suites, hyperbaric chamber wound care, and the first positron emission tomography MRI machine in Westchester County. To add human expertise to these technological boons, the new center will support experts in everything from orthopedics and pain management to ENTs, cardiovascular programs, and thyroid disease.
“As the past year confirmed, having access to advanced care right here in our community is critical,” Fox says.
